Liao dynasty (907-1125)*
*The conservation was carried out at the Abegg-Stiftung as
the author’s graduate project under the guidance of Dr.
Mechthild Flury-Lemberg and Gisela Ilek. The robe was
offered to and purchased by the Cleveland Museum of Art and
appeared in the exhibition “When Silk Was Gold”. The
Conservation Report: “A Burial Robe from a Liao Tomb in
Northeastern China”.(Copyright 1996, unpublished) The report
includes a reconstruction analysis of the original garment
based on physical information contained in the textile. The
Conservation Report is available online in a PDF file.
